About Circle
Kodagu circle is situated in the south-western corner of Karnataka, bordering the state of Kerala. The circle covers areas within Kodagu district. Kodagu circle comprises two territorial divisions, namely, Madikeri and Virajpet forest divisions, and one wildlife division, namely, Madikeri wildlife division. Besides, there is one social forestry division, namely, Madikeri SF division. Kodagu circle is wholly enclosed in the Western Ghats, and comprises evergreen, semi-evergreen and moist deciduous forests. Some of the best evergreen forests of Karnataka occur in this circle.
